Shrapnel
Okay, wiseguy, first Black Iron Prisons now Shrapnel? Did someone stomp on your kittie or what?
Hopefully, you have reviewed some of the Black Iron Prison material before venturing here. If you haven't, by Gods, go back and read it. We'll wait for you...
Good. So, this is Shrapnel. Check it out.
So, what do you think? Did it make any sense? If so, you're in great shape and the rest of this should be a piece of cake. If not, pull up a barstool and check it out.
Here it is, we all enter life at Point A, typically your Mommy's womb. We all check out at Point B. That would be when we stop drawing breath. What's in the middle is the Wild Wild West or whatever geographical orientation you prefer. For the sake of this discussion, we will talk of Paths.
Now, to be clear, there are obviously more than three paths. In fact there are an infinite number of paths between the paths depicted. And there are probably paths outside as well. Nevermind the ones that snake and intersect all others at varing points.
So why do we take the paths we do? Why do we deviate from a certain course and head in another direction? Why do some of us make a beeline for Point B while others take the scenic route?
This is the idea behind Shrapnel. Think of a path. Think of when you were a young child. Perhaps you grew up in a religious family and perhaps you are religious now in adulthood. Well, when we arrive at Point A we don't have the wherewithall to contemplate much that is beyond our literal fingertips. At some point along the way on your path you are exposed to the idea of religion. This is the metaphorical Shrapnel. A sort of device on the pathway that directs this "Religion" bit of Shrapnel your way. Perhaps it is in the form of a sermon. Perhaps it is in the form of a religious neighbor approaching you. Perhaps you were flipping the channels and ended up on the 700 Club. Where you go next on your Path, at that point, is at least in part determined by this initial exposure unit of Religion.
And that is what "Shrapnel" is. It's these units of exposure of many different things. Religion, Education, Art, Family, etc., etc.,
The Sphere of Possibility
This is the Sphere of Possibility. Well, it's an evolving idea that we are gnashing on currently over at PD.COM. It, in a way encapsulates the Shrapnel, Paths, and Black Iron Prison ideas. The Sphere of Possibility, essentially, is the Universe or Reality. We enter at birth and exit at death. The Sphere represents the Universe in which we live. As human beings, creatures with limited capacities, we can never truly witness the entirety of the Universe. Indeed, we can only take in so much information about it during our brief lifetime.
The chart illustrates how, within this vast, undefined universe, how very differently individuals navigate the time available from birth to death. Some may choose to stay quite true to immediate experiences and information, and not seek to move towards the uncharted outer edges. Meanwhile, others will maximize every second that they draw breath and try to cover as much of the Three Dimensional territory as possible. It may be it is the bars in our Black Iron Prison cells that play a part, along with the active Shrapnel that comes in our way.
the questions Why do some seek out more of the territory than others? What causes the changes in directions along the paths? Is it really a Sphere? Or, is it perhaps more of a cone? ...and certainly there are more questions that will develop...stay tuned...
Why is this even important?
It's a matter of awareness and understanding. The more you are armed with yourself the better shape you will be in while navigating your path. It will affect how you react to your exposure to different memes, ideas, and ideals. It is what helps to shape the walls and bars of your BIP.
The bottom line is, the more you are aware of the mechanisms and make up of your surroundings, the more freedom of movement you will have. This is just as true of the world within your mind, as it is the physical world we negotiate on a daily basis. Knowledge truly is power.
